For plants with smooth leaves:
There’s nothing better than regular dusting with a soft disposable electrostatic or reusable microfiber cloth. This will be followed by wiping the leaves using a soft cloth that has been previously wet with mild water on either side. If the spot remains, prepare a solution from ¼ teaspoon of dishwashing liquid and a quart of warm water, spray it thoroughly on the plant, and then rinse the dirt gently with water. This is usually suitable on a cloudy day or in a shaded area.
However, if someone has the connections to modify the space indoors, they should certainly do that. When talking about bigger indoor plant cleaning in shower setting, a stool is the best helper, as it lets you turn them in any angle and access every detail.
The same method could be used in the case of smaller plants too. In this case, we can turn them upside down and plunge them into a bucket full of lukewarm water, fastening the earth on it firmly using aluminum foil and the plastic wrap so that the water does not spill. As for extra lease of leaf, commercial leaf shine may be used.
For plants with hairy leaves:
Try not to use water as it may give your dining table spots after it has dried. Alternatively, blow the dirt off using small blasts of compressed air from the can or use a thin brush to gently clear it. This is also a powerful and water-saving cleaning method for cacti pools.

The cleaning frequency should be based on how heavy dust a person notice in the indoor environment. We can quite efficiently check whether we need to clean or not by simply implementing a visual check or a gentle touch with a leaf. During the cold times outside, if the plants over winter in cooler climates, among the warmer months, give them a shower per year, especially if they were outside all the summer.
Inspecting your houseplants
While cleaning, also inspect your plants for any signs of issues:
- Leave no stone unturned. In addition to the above steps, perform visual inspection of the undersides of leaves for insects as well.
2. Check for the leaves turning yellow or having spots, which could signal the presence of fungi and bacteria.
3. Look at the points the leaves are connected in stems since pests hide there.
4. Examine the tree, for its structural firmness and color normalcy. observe the tree whether it is deciduous, has green leaves, and the bark is intact.
5. Verify the soil for any traces of mold or salt dumped on the lawn surface, and they would show up as white deposits. Extend the watering period and return to the original method of irrigation if needed.
